The Clinical Coordinator / Nurse Educator of Women's & Children's Services has the responsibility and accountability for the clinical quality outcomes for patients/families, education, and resource management. They will take an integral role in planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing evidence-based education to the associates. The person in this position must have schedule flexibility and promote harmony and teamwork. He/She will have consistent competent clinical skills and will at times provide direct clinical bedside care in the Women's & Children's setting. They will have knowledge of and work within the Women's & Children's Scope of Practice.

Determining educational needs of the nursing staff
Serves as a resource person to staff
Assists with on-going education, competency validation, and documentation of specific Women's & Children's clinical competencies
Educate and lead implementation of Evidence-based practice
Facilitates shared-governance model
Participates in development of patient/family educational needs, learning plan
Develops, implements, evaluates an education plan to fulfill TJC education and skill validation requirements
Provides education programs for new and present nursing associates
Will spend equal time among the Women's & Children's service line
Participate in weekly Quality Meetings and report accordingly
Participate in Pediatric JOC meetings and Shared Governance Council meetings and assist to educate staff on changes and identified needs
Assists in orientation of new nurses
