University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Ultrasound Technologist. Incumbent is responsible for performing all ultrasound and vascular procedures at a level that will require no supervision of technical detail. This position requires the employee to perform procedures using independent judgment with ingenuity, initiative and a complete understanding of anatomy, physiology, vascular pathology and Doppler principles. The Chief Ultrasound Technologist will maintain 24 hour supervision of the Vascular/Ultrasound Diagnostic Division of Radiology/Imaging Services, including performance and/or supervision of tests during scheduled hours, distribution of test results and daily management of personnel assigned to that area. The Chief Technologist is responsible for the operations of their section in the absence of the Director. Will also be responsible for the daily administrative duties ensuring budgetary, policy and performance improvement compliance. Assures efficient workflow of the section in order to achieve the highest quality care. This position uses the designated Protected Health Information (PHI) systems as necessary to perform their functions. Employee must adhere to PHI “minimum necessary” compliance standards at all times. Performs other duties as assigned.
The minimum requirements are: Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and related education and certifications required. ARDMS registered in Abdominal and Vascular. Total of five (5 ) years’ experience required to include a minimum of three ( 3) years’ experience in Vascular Ultrasound, plus 2 years Radiography supervisory experience.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist. lift up to 20 lbs. over the head. Carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force. Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Push/pull over 100 lbs. frequently during the workday. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
