Variety, autonomy and growth and just three of the many words used to describe Memorial’s Sonography department. On a typical day, a sonographer at Memorial could see 8-9 patients for about one hour each. The sonographer works with a high level of autonomy doing stress testing, echocardiograms, and inpatient echos. To encourage growth and development in this role, the sonographer will be encouraged to get his or her competencies in transesophageal, echocardiography and stress testing. Our team is also competent in strain and 3D. As a teaching hospital, we are proud of our Valvular program and ability to partner with physicians/residents. Sonography team members at Memorial are optimistic and always in pursuit of the best picture to increase the accuracy of measurements. With a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 1 Trauma, Memorial is at the front line of patient care.
